So, while we were out in LA our waiter at one of the bars is the producer and star of this parody video of “The Story of My Life”. The video is very well made and the lyrics, dancing, and acting are also great. I wasn’t as much of a fan of the singing but Pragya did mention it sounded a little bit like “Crash Test Dummies” so maybe that was the sound they were going for. Overall a great video and the words are very catchy (you’ll find yourself signing it for days!).
The other one I found that I liked!
I was introduced to Lo-Fang a couple weeks ago by my mother-in-law and have started to really like his music. I gather from the comments that he has toured with Lorde (who I also really like)! Let me know what you think!
So the first few runs after the BIG half-marathon, I was back on the treadmill and weirdly, I felt really awkward running. Like I didn’t really know what to do with my arms and the rest of my body. Think maybe it’s a weird transition to go from running outside to being back on a machine. But every attempt, it cracked me up, because I feel like Jack on 30 Rock when he’s trying to tape this ad scene and he forgets how to walk. I get it!
So ladies, have you tried and had any luck with making carrot juice?? Every time I’ve gotten it at a juice bar, I think it’s so delicious. But it hasn’t been the same when I’ve made it myself. I use whole carrots and tried adding lemon, ginger, and ice this last time. Maybe I need to try carrot and apple. If you have any delicious ideas, please share!
ah-ha! The new video theme must be to have an alternative video with lyrics and a catchy theme. Although the downside of these lyric videos is the lack of dance routine, the upside is I’m getting a lot more knowledgable of the words to today’s current hits. I’d heard this song a few times on the radio, I’m sure I sang along with no clue of the words, and thought it was just a generic song. It was after I saw this video and read the words, I realized it was actually unique and cute (with the spin that it was a song to a girl’s father rather than to the girl)! Enjoy!
After our BIG half marathon run, we needed some much deserved fuel and headed to Solvang Brewing Company for some drinks and nachos!
Toppings: Pretty standard for a nacho including black beans, a mix of cheeses, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. The two toppings that made these nachos unique were the spicy pickled veggies and the carnitas (we got this on the side). The chips were also made in-house and were amazing! The toppings were so good that someone in our party was licking the plate as our server returned. He proceeded to say “Wow, you guys really KILLED those nachos”. 4.5/5
Toppings to Chip Ratio – This was also done very well and we had absolutely no leftovers but that may have been because someone was licking any leftovers up with her fingers! 4.5/5
Freshness: The chips were very fresh and I really enjoyed the addition of the pickled vegetables but there weren’t many fresh veggies on there like tomatoes and lettuce which I always enjoy. 3.5/5
Crunchiness of Chips: The chips were truly excellent – one of the best parts of the nachos!! 5/5
Creativeness: I gave them a couple stars for the creative use of the “spicy pickled veggies” and the pulled pork. 4.5/5
